Deardurff’s Hobby House

This was  located on the corner of Central Avenue and 1st Street SW – in the 1960’s slot car racing was popular and Deardurff’s Hobby Shop held racing competition with local winners going on to regional competition and possibly to National. The winners of the area competition on 1963 were 1^st place – Don Dreyer – Duane Olson- 2^nd place – David Pence – 3rd place and Craig Kranovsky – 4^th place .... later there would be a Deardurff's Hobby Shop in the Town & Country Center when it opened in 1964
